Another setback…
Hey guys, I just wanted to spew out a quick blurb on what’s going on with me. If you’ve checked out my transformation page recently you might have noticed that I’ve gone down in weight. This isn’t due to lack of effort it’s just the reality of being back in school and not having 100% of my time dedicated to training and eating.
My number 1 priority right now is finding time to eat while at school. One of the major habits that have impacted my eating time is the amount of time I spend in the gym. I’m usually a very efficient person but as of late I’ve been wasting a lot of time in the gym. Ideally I’d like to be in and out of the gym within an hour and at the latest an hour and fifteen minutes. I haven’t done a good job at staying within those time ranges so I might have to go old school and pick up a stopwatch or something.
I’ve conceded that eating 6 meals a day while in school is not gong to be realistic (for the time being at least) so I’m going to try to make my meals a bit more calorie dense and maybe go from 6 meals to 4 meals with a crap load of snacks to keep me from going hungry.
Now for the setback…
While deadlifting a couple weeks ago I tweaked my lower lumbar spine. To make a long story short this lead to a lot of symptoms that I’m not accustomed to. I’ve been working closely with my Athletic therapist and my Doctor, who I just recently saw, and we’ve decided that I’m going to need some time off just to get my body healthy. I was already planning to take a week off next week so I guess this serves as an extended vacation.
On top of that injury I’ve been officially diagnosed with an impinged shoulder and I have a SERIOUS right rhomboid strain that hurts when I breathe (yea that injury hasn’t healed yet).
So to say the least I have a lot of fun coming up in the next few weeks. But I’m not going to let these setbacks slow me down. I still plan on dieting hard and working around my injuries.
Anyway that’s it for me today. I have some interesting information I’d like to share with you guys later on this week so make sure you stay posted by subscribing.

Hey man, keep your chin up. These things have a way of really getting you down. Injuries are just set backs.
Ice, rest, immobilization. Then, light weights, strictest form.
You’ll come back better than ever!
I’m more motivated than every that I’ll be able to overcome these injuries. The great thing is I have a great support team that’s taking care of me. Right now its just a matter of being patient and continuing with my rehabilitation exercises.
Thanks for the support
Hey man how long did that rhomboid strain take to heal? I think I strained mine lifting a barbell off military-style and it’s still not healed after over a month
It took a little over 7 months to heal. I should have had a doctor look at it.
Do you think it would have healed faster if you had completely stopped lifting for a couple months? I can’t tell when I should get back into it; been two months and it’s still bothering me
That back injury ended up being a Herniated Disc. The Rhomboid injury was the least of my concerns.
What you need to do is head over to the nearest sports medicine doctor. Describe your injury and let him or her diagnose you. If they recommend physiotherapy or something along those line use is.
Learn from my mistakes. I have a heap of injuries now because I didn’t listen to my body.
Stopping isn’t necessarily going to fix the problem because you don’t know what the problem is.
Keep me posted on how you progress.
